What you can do

Start from a template. Choose one of five preset layouts, tap in line items, and Tallyy builds a professional invoice PDF instantly.
Describe it and let AI draft it. Type a rough note — "two days of consulting at $80/hr for Acme, plus a $150 setup fee" — and AI asks about anything missing and writes the complete invoice.
Bring your own AI key. "Describe it" uses your own Anthropic (Claude) API key — free to create, and you're billed by Anthropic only for what you use (a fraction of a cent per invoice). Your note goes straight from your Mac to Anthropic, never to a Tallyy server.
Autofill your business details. Enter your company name, address, logo, and payment info once in Settings; they populate every invoice automatically.
Save clients and handle the math. Keep the people you bill on hand, and add tax and discounts that calculate the totals for you.
Send it your way. Export the finished PDF and share or email it from your Mac.

Privacy and trust

Tallyy for Mac is local-first. Your invoices, clients, and company details are stored only on your Mac, there is no Tallyy account and no Tallyy server, and template invoicing sends nothing off your machine. The single exception is the "Describe it" feature: when you choose to use it, the short note you type is sent directly from your Mac to Anthropic — using your own API key — to draft the invoice, and nothing else about you or your other invoices ever leaves the device. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Payment and licensing are handled by Gumroad; the app never sees your payment details.
